Driving Thailand’s Pharmaceutical Economy Forward FDA Supports Knowledge Exchange and Development of New Drugs Domestically Positioning the Country as a Regional Medical Hub

The Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is actively promoting the country’s pharmaceutical industry by supporting research and development of new drugs within Thailand. The agency encourages businesses to participate from the early stages of drug development and registration to strengthen production capabilities and reduce dependency on imported medicines. This initiative aims to elevate Thailand’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The FDA prioritizes the exchange of expertise in manufacturing technology, research, and quality control of pharmaceuticals. It also fosters collaboration with private sector partners and related agencies. Recently, officials visited pharmaceutical factories producing targeted cancer treatments and companies engaged in new drug research and development, offering guidance on quality assurance and production standards.

A robust healthcare system and solid foundations are key drivers in transforming Thailand into a medical hub for the region, excelling in drug manufacturing, research, and exporting high-quality medicines.
