Join the Tak Bat Nam Phueng (Honey Offering Ceremony) by making merit with offerings of honey, along with traditional savory and sweet dishes.

This is an ancient tradition of the Thai-Mon (Raman) community, held on the Buddhist Holy Day of the Full Moon, the 15th day of the 10th lunar month (around September). Among the Mon people, it is called “Bang Ha Biang Tat Sai”, meaning “offering honey as alms” (Long Ha Piang Dat Sai).

The tradition is rooted in Buddhist history: during the Buddha’s time, while residing in the Parileyyaka Forest, an elephant and a monkey attended to Him by offering sugarcane and honey. Later, the Buddha permitted monks to consume honey and sugarcane juice as medicinal sustenance.
