This century-old tradition brings together the people of Lamphun to create magnificent “Salak Yom Trees”, towering over 12 meters high and intricately decorated, offered as a Buddhist tribute and in dedication to ancestors. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime sight!
✨ Festival Highlights – Salak Yom 2025
1 Sept: Grand contest of Salak Yom Trees (over 12 meters tall) with Lanna cultural performances.
2–5 Sept: Stroll through the award-winning Salak Yom Trees and enjoy the spectacular light & sound show “Painting the Salak with Light and Color.”
6 Sept: Don’t miss the majestic opening ceremony, featuring the unique “Ham Kalong” performance.
7 Sept: The grand procession of Salak Yom Trees along Intayongyos Road (in front of the old Lamphun Provincial Hall) — a dazzling spectacle found only here in Lamphun!
