On May 6, 2026, Minister of Culture Ms. Sabeeda Thaised welcomed H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Thailand to discuss elevating cultural cooperation to propel Thai soft power onto the global stage. The dialogue focused on exchanging expertise in arts, film, and cultural heritage to boost Thailand’s creative industries, aiming to enhance the nation's international image and broaden diplomatic relations through a sustainable cultural dimension.

Both also discussed preparations for the official visit of the Minister of Culture and delegation to the French Republic in May 2026 to participate in major events: the 79th Cannes Film Festival 2026, bilateral talks with the French Minister of Culture, and the presentation of the Legion of Honour (Légion d’honneur) to HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. The visit will also include the opening of a Royal Thai Dress exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts, (Musée des Arts Décoratifs): showcasing the evolution of Thai textiles from tradition to modernity.
