PM Anutin Expresses Condolences After School Shooting, Orders Urgent Assistance

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has expressed condolences to the families of those killed in a school shooting in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province today (Aug 7), ordering government agencies to provide urgent assistance to those injured and other affected families.

Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhanadirek said Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Paradorn Prissananantakul is scheduled to chair a meeting this afternoon to consider financial compensation for those affected by the shooting.

Based on assistance provided in previous cases, compensation under consideration is 1 million baht for each death, 700,000 baht for permanent disability, 200,000 baht for serious injury, and 100,000 baht for minor injury. Final payments will be determined through the relevant fund procedures.

The Rights and Liberties Protection Department under the Ministry of Justice is also providing assistance under laws covering compensation for victims of criminal offenses. Government agencies have been instructed to coordinate their response and provide necessary support to victims and their families.
