TISTR collaborates with Indonesia to strengthen cooperation in innovative ambergris extraction.

The Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) welcomed a delegation from Indonesia for a study visit and discussions aimed at strengthening academic collaboration, with a focus on innovation in marine amber extraction. The visit highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two countries and emphasized knowledge exchange in research and development, particularly in extracting marine amber and creating high-value products with strong commercial potential.
 
TISTR, through its Expert Centre of Innovative Herbal Products, showcased its systematic expertise in this field, including extraction processes, quality analysis, and the development of premium-grade fragrance products. These efforts are designed to enhance product value for commercial use and export. The Indonesian delegation also toured key facilities, such as the herbal extraction pilot plant and the Integrated Cosmetic and Cosmeceutical Service Center (ICOS), to explore Thailand’s industrial-scale research and development capabilities.
 
The visit left a strong impression and laid the groundwork for deeper international collaboration. It marks an important step in strengthening Thailand–Indonesia relations, particularly in science, technology, industry, and innovation, while reinforcing TISTR’s role as a leading research and development organization driving international partnerships and supporting sustainable innovation-driven economic growth.
