The Tourism Authority of Thailand and local communities invite everyone to the Rap Bua Festival 2026, themed "Preserving the One-and-Only Lotus Throwing Tradition: The Water Legend of Bang Phli", held from October 19–27, 2026 at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, Samut Prakan Province.

Festival Highlights
October 22: Grand Opening Ceremony.
October 23: Land procession of the revered Luang Pho To Buddha image.
October 24: Water procession of Luang Pho To, boat alms-giving, and rowing boat races.
October 25: The main "Rap Bua" (Lotus Throwing) Day, the world's only unique tradition.

Tradition & Activities
Originating from the cultural ties between local residents and Mon communities along the Samrong Canal, the festival symbolizes generosity and faith. On the morning of the main day, thousands of visitors line the canal banks to joyfully toss lotus flowers into the passing boat carrying a replica of Luang Pho To. The celebration also features creative boat parades, traditional folk songs like Phleng Yoei, and cultural displays celebrating waterfront life.
