PM Anutin Marks Thailand-UK 170th Diplomatic Anniversary

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended a reception celebrating 170 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the United Kingdom, as well as the 80th anniversary of the British Chamber of Commerce, reaffirming the enduring partnership between the two countries.

The event, held on April 1, was attended by UK Ambassador Mr. Mark Gooding and representatives from both nations. The gathering highlighted the continued expansion of bilateral ties. British companies have played a longstanding role in Thailand’s development through investment and cooperation, while Thai businesses have expanded into the United Kingdom, supporting local economies and strengthening bilateral links. Cooperation between the two countries extends beyond trade and investment, with connections also evident in sports and cultural exchange, demonstrating the breadth of the relationship.

For future cooperation, both sides are working to boost trade and investment ties, with plans to pursue a free trade agreement expected to create new economic opportunities, building on the existing strategic partnership between the two nations.
